Artist Statement

My love for film started when I was a young child and my dad would take me to the theater to catch a film almost every weekend. I didn’t know much about the technical side of film, but I was always in awe about how these stories were brought to life for the big screen and could transport you to other worlds. There are so many different ways to communicate feeling within a film whether it be within the edit, lighting, sound design, or camera movement. Additionally, this has translated into my work as a photographer which I believe to be equally interesting in creating a feeling with a single snapshot.

I have also found that I love the collaboration aspect of film and photography. Working with other creatives has been one of the great joys on all the projects I have worked on. I hope to continue to work on an refine my filmmaking and photography abilities while also telling stories and eliciting a feeling, whether good or bad, from my audience.
